【摘要】:Glassspecimenstobetestedshallbemountedinastandardtestframewithfoursidessupported,orinatestframedesignedtorepresentspecificglazingconditions.Astandardtestframeshallbeusedwhenitisdesiredtoevaluatetheprobabilityofbreakageofglassspecimenswithedgesupportconditionsheldconstant.Atestframedesignedtorepresentaspecificglazingconditionshallbeusedwhenitisdesiredtoevaluatetheprobabilityofbreakageofglassspecimensinthespecifiedglazingsystem.Loadsonglassinwindows,curtainwalls,anddoorsmayvarygreatlyinmagnitude,direction,andduration.Anyload(wind,snow,etc.)thatcanbetransformedintoa60-sdurationequivalentuniformdesignloadcanbeconsidered.Loadtransformationtechniquesareaddressedintheliterature(1,2,3).Thestrengthofglassvarieswithmanydifferentfactorsincludingsurfacecondition,loadduration,geometry,relativehumidity,andtemperature(4).Athoroughunderstandingofthosestrengthvariationsisrequiredtointerpretresultsofthistestmethod.1.1Thistestmethodisaproceduretodetermineiftheprobabilityofbreakageofglassspecimenstestedissignificantlygreaterthan,significantlylessthan,ornotsignificantlydifferentthanthespecifiedprobabilityofbreakagewhenexposedtoaspecified60-sdurationequivalentdesignload.Itisnotintendedtobeadesignstandardfordeterminingtheloadresistanceofglass.PracticeE1300shallbeusedforthispurpose.1.2Thistestmethoddescribesapparatusandprocedurestoselectandapplya60-sdurationproofloadtoglassspecimens,todeterminethenumberofglassspecimenstobetested,andtoevaluatestatisticallytheprobabilityofbreakage.Thistestmethodmaybeconductedusingthestandardtestframespecifiedhereinoratestframeoftheuser''sdesign.1.3Properuseofthistestmethodrequiresaknowledgeoftheprinciplesofpressuremeasurementandanunderstandingofrecommendedglazingpractices.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificprecautionarystatementsaregiveninSection7.
