【摘要】:Theabilityofamultilayernickeldeposittoenhancecorrosionresistanceisafunctionofthedifferenceintheelectrodepotentialsofthenickellayers(asmeasuredindividuallyatafixedcurrentdensityinagivenelectrolyteversusareferenceelectrode)andthethicknessesofthelayers.Thepotentialdifferencesmustbesufficienttocausethebrightnickelortoplayertocorrodepreferentiallyandsacrificiallywithrespecttothesemi-brightnickellayerbeneathit.Thistestprocedureallowsthemeasurementofthesepotentialdifferencesdirectlyonanelectroplatedpartratherthanonseparatefoilspecimensinsuchawaythattimedeterminesthethicknessofeachlayer,whilethepotentialdifferencebetweennickellayersisanindicationofthecorrosionresistanceofthetotalnickeldeposit.Theinterpretationandevaluationoftheresultsofthistestshouldbebyagreementbetweenthepurchaserandthemanufacturer.Note18212;Thistestmaybeusedasaqualityassurancetestofthemultilayernickelcoatingsappliedinproduction.Itshouldbeunderstoodthatduetomanyfactorsthatinfluencetheprogressofcorrosionduringactualuseofthepart,theperformanceofdifferentmultilayernickeldepositsinthetestcannotbetakenasanabsoluteindicatoroftherelativecorrosionresistanceofthesedepositsinservice.1.1Thistestmethodcloselyestimatesthethicknessofindividuallayersofamultilayernickelelectrodepositandthepotentialdifferencesbetweentheindividuallayerswhilebeinganodicallystrippedatconstantcurrentdensity.,1.2Thistestmethoddoesnotcoverdepositsystemsotherthanmultilayerelectroplatednickeldeposits.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
