【摘要】:1.1Thispracticeisintendedasaguideforstandardizingeddy-currentequipmentemployedintheexaminationofseamlessaluminum-alloytube.Artificialdiscontinuitiesconsistingofflat-bottomedorthroughholes,orboth,areemployedasthemeansofstandardizingtheeddy-currentsystem.Generalrequirementsforeddy-currentexaminationproceduresareincluded.1.2ProceduresforfabricationofreferencestandardsaregiveninAppendixesand.1.3Thispracticeisintendedfortheexaminationoftubularproductshavingnominaldiametersupto4in.[101.6mm]andwallthicknessesuptothestandarddepthofpenetration(SDP)ofeddycurrentsfortheparticularalloy(conductivity)beingexaminedandtheexaminationfrequencybeingused.Note1Thispracticemayalsobeusedforlargerdiametersorheavierwallsuptotheeffectivedepthofpenetration(EDP)ofeddycurrentsasspecifiedbytheusingpartyorparties.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.5Thispracticedoesnotestablishacceptancecriteria.Theymustbeestablishedbytheusingpartyorparties.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
